What personal data we collect and why we collect it


When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.


If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

We collect the least amount of personal data possible on our contact forms in order to conduct the relevant action as instructed by you when you sign up to get blog newsletter notifications or to receive one of our freebies or information on services and products we may offer. We keep data securely and only use it for the purpose in which it was originally intended.  We never sell or pass on your data to third parties. You can unsubscribe from our newsletter and email communications at anytime by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails.


If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

What data breach procedures we have in place

If we discovered a serious data breach, it would be reported immediately to the relevant authority in the UK, the ICO and we would work with them to rectify the situation.  We would also inform any users who may have been effected.

We do not receive data or buy data from third parties.

We at select periods use data and analytical data to profile and better understand our user/reader base in order to better offer useful and interesting content which would be appealing.
